Embroidered vestments with floral motifs and the bicephalous eagle.
The flowers in the Greek-inspired priestly vestment, also called “ice flowers”, are surrounded by olive branches, symbolizing peace and wheat ears, symbol of the body of Christ the Savior. The crowned bicephalous eagle, present since the first Christian centuries in the churches of Mount Athos and on the flag of the Byzantine Empire, adorns the epitraph and the coverings for the Holy Vessels.The vestment’s sash is beautifully decorated at the bottom with floral motifs, and the icon of the Virgin Mary or of the Savior, according to preference, is highlighted by Byzantine arabesques and a crown reminding us that she is the queen of Christ. The epitrachel is ennobled with a bicephalous eagle and crosses, and the stichar at the bottom has the same embroidery as the felon; the bra, the manecutes and the coverings for the Holy Vessels are also embroidered in the same tone as the vestment.
