Embroidered priest vestments B-30 black
1.320,00 €
Embroidered vestment with monogram and crosses.
The monogram of Christ, XP, is an early Christian symbol, and by using these two letters during the period of paganism, the wearer affirmed their Christian identity.
According to Christian tradition, this symbol was seen in a vision by Emperor Constantine the Great before the Battle of the Milvian Bridge, thus gaining the name Constantinian Cross or Labarum.
The vestment has the epitrachelion, cuffs, and belt in contrast with the felonion and stiharion, which makes this design particularly distinctive.
The embroidery of the designs is made with black or white silk thread (depending on the vestment element), and the coverings for the Holy Vessels are embroidered in the same manner.
The black color is a more recent addition to the color palette of priest vestments and symbolizes repentance and sorrow; therefore, priests wear them especially during Great Lent, at funerals, and various funeral-related religious services.
The vestments are embroidered on lirino – a superior quality material specially for vestments.
The exceptional quality of the embroidery threads and other materials that make up the vestments ensures that this product retains its beauty and durability over time.
Upon request, the vestment can be made in any color desired by the client, and the embroidery is done in harmony with the chosen color.
