Since the very beginning of Christian life, the vine has always been present as a symbol of the Blood of Jesus Christ the Savior, the Holy Communion.

The priestly vestment is embroidered with vine leaves and crosses that form a border all around the lower part of the felon.
The inscription IC XC NI KA (“Jesus Christ Conquers”) is included in the cross that adorns the back of the felon.
The crosses and vine leaves also appear on the epitrachelion, as well as on the belt, cuffs, and the coverings for the Holy Vessels, where they serve as decorative elements.
